Light of the Hill United Methodist Church

Freezing Nights

Our church is involved in an ecumenical (lots of different churches) ministry providing shelter during the winter months for adults experiencing homelessness. We provide a dinner, a warm safe place to sleep and breakfast. The ministry of being present is also a large part of what we do at Freezing Nights.

Please consider being part of the vital ministry to adults experiencing homelessness.

We need many volunteers to:
•welcome people to the church

•buy and deliver supplies
•prepare and serve dinner
•prepare and serve breakfast and coffee
•clean up, do dishes

•visit and eat with guests
•clean bathrooms in the morning
•stay overnight

On-site volunteers must pass a background check and attend a training.

Light of the Hill UMC is an overflow site, housing up to 30 individuals 2-3 times per month.
