You are welcome here.

I am proud to be the pastor of a church where people are excited to share about our wonderful congregation. I believe that God wants all Christians to live faithfully in every arena of their lives, and Light of the Hill is a place where we explore what that means. I hope that you will join us on this road of discipleship.

Light of the Hill United Methodist Church is a place to call home,
a place to belong, and a place to celebrate the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
We are an inclusive, reconciling congregation
that recognizes and celebrates diversity.

Everyone from all walks of life is welcome, and we strive to do this better all the time.
We invite you to experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ through worship, study, and service.
We offer both contemporary and traditional worship where children are always welcome.

We are a thirty-five-year-old congregation on Southhill in Puyallup. People in our congregation find ways to serve that match their gifts from everything from music to mowing the lawn to leading vacation Bible school or heading up a lunch group. People serve throughout the community in both volunteer and vocation capacities. You might see a newborn baby and a seasoned 85-year-old in the same row during worship. Recently, study groups have talked about forgiveness, sexual orientation, current theology, homelessness, and Jesus' parables. Some study books and others use DVD-based curriculum. In this time in our congregational life, we focus our mission efforts on homelessness in Pierce County, Jemaa Letu Orphanage in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and nearby Firgrove Elementary School.

I hope that you will look around our website and feel free to contact us if you have questions.

May the grace of God be with you on your journey,
Pastor Melissa
